I found my voice.

I’m Jeff Harmon. They call me “The Magis.” People who know me, know that I think a lot. I’ve lived in Macon all my life. I see the situations that people get into…and I watch them fight through adversity to get out…those are the things that inspire me. I see the power that lies within the individual.

I go down to Jonita’s on Wednesday nights for Spoken Word. It’s a beautiful environment, really low key.  I perform my poetry there. Below is a poem that I was inspired to write about Macon.

The Voice of Macon

Home can not be forgotten.
What is home?  Ones starting location.
Our location?  Macon, MacTown, Maconga.
What does one receive from being at home?
Nurturing, protection, peace, and the comfort of knowing one is always welcome.
Yet, is one alone?  One trows not.
One also receives constant influence from others surrounding one.
The Macon community communes constantly.
We mold each other into what we are.
Indeed, we influence each other into action.
And we call our influence and our actions, Maconga, Macon, GA.
Our motivation in our location is the love that we share with one another.
Without that love some would have left a long, long, time ago.
Therefore, let Macon speak out for herself to the world, and make her testimony.
Listen, as the world waits for her to speak.
