I discovered the theory of relativity.
Pammie Jimmar, Macon Convention and Visitors Bureau
My theory is, if you have plenty of barbecue, you’ll have plenty of relatives at your reunion. I think family gatherings in Macon get bigger every year. In my job at the Macon Convention & Visitors Bureau, I help plan family reunions.
Macon has so many great venues for getting together with family and friends. You can have a reunion at the Ocmulgee Indian Mounds or plan a picnic at Lake Tobosofkee. You can even host an event at one of our museums, like the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame or the Tubman African American Museum.
Don’t just reunite with relatives. Find new friends or get together with your neighbors. Pick the perfect park for a picnic or host a block party on your street. To be honest, I think the real comfort doesn’t come from the food. It comes from the fellowship.
